Hello, my name is James Thomas, aka "JT", founder and owner of Maine Audio Visual (formerly Elm City DJ). I'm an experienced A/V Tech, DJ, MC, and KJ for over 25 years. The profession has allowed me to pursue my passion for technology and entertainment by helping my customer's event be a successful one. In addition, I enjoy giving back to military families. I'm a Marine veteran myself, serving 4 years in California and a brief time in Japan. As you may well know, the Japanese created Karaoke, which means "empty orchestra." I was first introduced to it in Okinawa and I've been a fan ever since.
Also, I'm a former actor, with performances in theater, TV commercials, extra and a stand-in work in movies and televison. This experience has helped me become a skilled Master of Ceremonies, and public speaker. With over 400 weddings and countless other events that I have personally performed, you'll have peace of mind knowing your event will be one to remember for many years to come.

For smaller gatherings, we recommend our "Pro Karaoke 1" system, which includes a 2-way powered 15" 400 watt speaker with stand, two corded mics with stands, 10" tablet with stand and over 2100 songs (or upgrade to over 30,000 songs). The system includes built-in vocal effects to make you sound amazing.
For larger groups of 10 or more people, we recommend our "Pro Karaoke 2" system. It features two 400 watt powered speakers with stands, mixer with even more vocal effects, two wireless microphones, 24" monitor with stand and mic holders, and complimentary access to over 30,000 Karaoke songs via online streaming (internet connection required).
With our Pro Karaoke 2 system, you can use your own laptop or rent one from us. MAV provides everything you need so you and your guests can be your own Karaoke Rock Star!
Local delivery and setup available. If your event is outdoors, a tent is required to protect the equipment from the sun and possible light rain. We also require having your event indoors when heavy rain, snow or wind is predicted. Daytime outdoor lighting can make the Karaoke lyrics on the monitor difficult to read. We recommend having your event at dusk to avoid this issue.
